Naomi and Matt have been friends for years, and realised perhaps there was some romance there [of course after everyone had been telling them this for AGES!], and they were right! They married on an overcast Saturday, perfect light for photo taking, and the perfect temperature for a November wedding.
The ceremony was so lovely, with Matt saying some really heartfelt words before his vows that even had me tearing up! Naomi is a primary school teacher, and even invited her [very excited] class to the wedding, who were only too eager to congratulate the couple outside the church.
We headed off to Cornwall Park and then Stanley Bay for some fun photos. We photographed Matt's brother Jono's wedding a couple of years ago, so we knew that we were in for an extremely fun filled day of celebrating!
Matt planned the honeymoon and kept it a secret from Naomi on the day, but I was privvy to the information upon leaving the ceremony, since I was going to be in the same location at the same time! Rarotonga! We caught up for a relaxing day swimming, eating and being generally silly on Aitutaki [Naomi and Matt flew over for the day to hang out], and finished off with a sunrise shoot before they headed back over to Raro. It was so much fun, and it's not everyday that you get to honeymoon with your wedding photographer!
Congratulations Naomi and Matt! You two are awesome!
