WEEK 23 - LOS ANGELES - thursday 30 september - saturday 2 october 2010

on thursday we met up with tracey and steve and daniel for coffee for breakfast, and then they headed off to do the los angeles tour [which weve done last year], so i spend the day finishing up the american photo book and reading stuff online :)

in the evening we taxied over to sizzler with tracey steve and daniel and got a smorgasboard dinner with a really nice steak for $11 plus tax, yum yum. finally a value for money meal that didnt taste like arse, thanks sizzler!

we went into the supermarket to pick up some things, and were trying to find a decent baby formula, but get this - they are all full of high fructose corn syrup, sugar, some milk powder, chemicals, palm oil and coconut oil. poor kids dont stand a chance here! so disgusting, we are so lucky in new zealand!

on friday joseph and steve headed off to universal studios [photography by joseph indrisie] :)

while tracey and i opted to stay at the hotel to give daniel a quiet day [hes one year old and deliciously cute!], so we ended up spending the day talking, enjoying coffees in the hotel bar in the morning, while daniel romped around on the chairs we’d pushed together to make a playpen for him. then tracey put him down for a sleep at 2pm and we sat eating lunch and chatting quietly in her hotel room, so as not to wake daniel. we didnt need to worry. he was out like a light, slept for ages! 
we got him up and gave him a bath and dinner, 

then grabbed dinner for ourselves with the boys, who had returned from universal, worn out, and then we all went to bed early!

saturday today, home time! :) we joined tracey and steve and daniel for breakfast at 9am, and daniel sat there charming everyone in the restaurant, and eagerly attacking a banana that he was keen on demolishing :)

we all packed up our things, and steve went off to grab the rental car, while we check ed out.

a nice last few quiet days to catch up, before heading back to a very busy spring and summer in new zealand :)

totally cant wait to catch up with everyone, so drop me an email or give us a call or text anytime after 10am monday 4 october new zealand time.

for those of you whove been reading the blog, thanks! apologies for my atrociously boring writing, im not a writer! but hey, lucky the photos are half decent ;)

WEEK 23 - SAN FRANCISCO - saturday -wednesday 25 - 29 september 2010

on saturday we went for a drive around, and took a few more pics. at least i think thats what we did. im writing this delayed, and all the days are blending, but lets just say we did, and i took some more photos. its so hot today, that we only took a few photos, then headed back to the apartment and melted into puddles. its too hot to move! [34 degrees!]

on sunday we headed into the city to take some more photos of heather, which turned out pretty cool. 

we grabbed some snacks and just hung out, also checked out china town.

then headed back to the apartment to cook dinner and watch a movie, nice and lazy :)

on monday and tuesday i worked really hard on the photo books for our holiday, and also on heathers photos, and managed to edit and put together the contiki and europe photobook and do heathers photos in 2 days :) hooray :) so i am on target to get all the photo books done before we leave :) [otherwise ill never do them, and they will end up like my mexico trip pictures from last year that i havent even had a chance to look at oops!]
in the evening we popped out to buy some dinner, and oogled at the giant halloween pumpkins for sale!

on wednesday we tidied up our things and then headed out with heather to the airport at lunchtime. 
we stopped for a final Peets coffee [the only decent coffee around here] and joseph gallantly helped an old lady to her car! bless!

we had no problems checking in, although security did have to bomb check my ikea lamps that i have in my carry on bags :)

we arrived in LAX, and shuttled to the hotel and got settled and met up with tracey and steve and daniel in the hotel, as they had just arrived from england.

we tried to find a place for dinner, and ended up getting snack wraps from mcdonalds because it got too late at night to find anywhere decent.
