WEEK 22 - SAN FRANCISCO - monday - friday 20 - 24 september 2010

monday today, we headed out to muir woods to do a photo shoot of heather :) we stopped by the golden gate bridge and got some misty photos

then we carried on to muir woods. its so pretty, it reminds me of the waitakeres.

here are a few of the pics from heathers shoot in muir woods...

we drove over the golden gate bridge again, so we took some more photos, since it was a clear day :)

next stop is marine headlands, for a few more pics of heather,

some headland photos,

and a visit to the sick marine animals that have surgery and then get released back into the wild when they are all better :) [and saw some raccoons too! :) ]

then onto the palace of fine arts. what a neat location! unfortunately it was blocked off to shoot inside the pillars, so we shot across the pond instead,

then stopped in at a cafe for a coffee which was extremely average. [and got to use the free wifi yay]

we headed home and made dinner and then blobbed for the evening.

today is tuesday and we headed out in our stink bomb rental car to san francisco. we grabbed an in n out burger for lunch and then headed to pier 33 to catch the boat to alcatraz.
its such a gorgeous location, its hard to believe that it was such a high security prison. its all run down now, but the tour guides are great, and you get to hear them and an audio tour for free. well, included in the ticket price, which is nice.

we headed back home and had dinner at home, then went out for hot chocolates.

wednesday today, worked on photos, then went to frys electronics, and best buy looking for ram for my laptop, and ikea for a look around for furniture for heathers place.
then went food shopping and came home and made a delicious roast chicken and stuffed our faces, sooooooooo good! YUM! we are going to use the chicken carcass to boil up a broth to make a soup, yum yum yum.

thursday today and heather and i are working hard this morning, heather on her CV, me on the travel photos. joseph was busy rearranging the lounge, and got parts in the afternoon to fix heathers lamp.
at about 2pm we headed out and ran some errands, grabbed the remainder of the food shopping, and then headed home for a rest before dinner.
we headed out for dinner to a sushi restaurant with one of heathers friends, mike, who is visiting from seattle. he works at google, so guess what?! we get to go to google tomorrow and eat lunch there! yay!
oh and we got dessert!

friday today. worked on MORE photos. then we got to go to GOOGLE! so cool! we got a free lunch and a tour of the place [well part of it, its massive] with heathers friend.
its so cool, you can take your dog and kids to work, they have an onsite gym, and you can eat breakfast lunch AND dinner for free. i think the idea is, that it is such a cool place, you never leave, so you are always networking, brainstorming and working. so its pretty cool!
check out what we saw below....
