wednesday 26 may 2010 - ljubljana to vienna via lake bled

Monday, July 5, 2010 | |

today we left ljubyana and went to vienna via lake bled. lake bled is so pretty, the scenery driving past looked like a postcard.
we went to this guys place which was a hotel or something [very nice toilets!] and hopped in these boats and were taken across to the island in the middle with big steps and a church and stuff. zsofi told us that if your partner wants to say or prove he loves you, then he can carry you up the steps! shinya even met some japanese people up there and had a yarn, so fun to watch :)

we spent the rest of the day in transit to vienna on the bus, looking at the lovely scenery passing by, and had a laundry party in the washing room, while the rest of the group went to listen to mozart.

tuesday 25 may 2010 - zadar to ljubyana

today we headed to the place i cant say. we had no expectations, and i was pleasantly surprised at how much i really liked this little place. the streets are all cobble stoned and the shops are cute, and theres old buildings which gives the place history and character.
we had a quick walk through the town center and then had free time. we went up the hill to the castle and took photos of the view, then just milled around the shops, which was nice.
we headed back to our ‘hotel’ to check in, then went back into the town for dinner and 2 for 1 cocktail drinks at the skeleton bar. SO YUM! theres a cocktail called ‘sex in the disabled toilet’ which everyone was trying, i had a ‘skeletons something’, ‘crazy strawberry’ and ‘girls just wanna have fun’. very fun night!
[as you can tell, im totally over writing in my blog, but if i dont write something, ill forget what we did!]

monday 24 may 2010 - croatia [bosnia, split, zadar]

| |

today we left beautiful dubrovnik and headed for zadar, via split, and we had to go through bosnia to get there! we stopped and had pancakes in bosnia which was fun, and a group photo :)

we travelled on to split, its such a cute wee town! we just cruised around the markets, and i went to the pharmacy to grab some more gastro pills, as 6 more people are sick with the bug :( i got a new handbag in split which fits my camera yay :)
we then headed to our final destination of zadar and saw a church built in the 9th century [so old!] and went and listened to the ‘sea organ’, the sound of the ocean through the concrete, so fun, i recorded the sound on my iphone yay :)
joseph and i went for a look around and found a neat optometrists and i got cheap contact lenses yay, so now i can swim without my glasses :)
headed back to our backpackers, which is just 4 bed musty dorms, and about 30 of us sharing 2 toilets and 2 showers. awesome. not. :(
