thursday 20 may 2010 - athens to preveza

today we drove from athens to preveza, a tiny little place in the midddle of nowhere! the scenery driving here is beautiful, it reminds me of driving to tauranga!
it rained on the way, and excitingly enough, we got to visit a supermarket, and i got to buy moisturiser! HOORAY! a few of the girls bought hair dye and dyed their hair at the hotel when we got here, which was fun, and we just spent the evening hanging out in our rooms and taking it easy, which is very nice! :) and the hotel is nice too yay!

wednesday 19 may 2010 - mykonos

our final lazy day hooray! spent the day sunbathing again, yay, and my legs can actually tan over here! amazing!

 did an engagement shoot on the beach opposite our resort [just for fun, im still in holiday mode ok! :)] for a canadian couple on our tour who are getting married in canada next year.

we left the resort and i took my lazy hat off and took some shots of mykonos from the bus and at the ferry dock, since i didnt take my camera into town when we went clubbing for obvious reasons! its definately a place id like to come back to and take more photos!

we caught the fast ferry over to athens at 5pm, because the public transport is on strike tomorrow, so we would have been stuck in mykonos another day, not that any of us would mind another day in sunny paradise!
we headed out for a late dinner, with the slowest service ive ever experienced, we waited 45mins for dinner, it was luke warm when we got it, and then waited 30mins for the bill before haivng to go up and ask for it! it really is ‘rough, rough, near enough!’ over here! oh, but i had the most amazing white chocolate and strawberry crepe for dessert from a different place YUM! heaven! want another one!!!

tuesday 18 may 2010 - mykonos

today we had a nothing day HOORAY!!!! so we slept in till 9.30am, grabbed breakfast, and then laxed in the sun all morning. it clouded over at lunchtime, so we headed inside and played on the net, as the wind picked up and it was cold!
we all headed to paradise beach at 4pm and it seemed to be the only place on the island that had sun! so we all drank green cocktails in the sun and did more well deserved relaxing after all of this walking and sight seeing weve been doing. im very grateful to have a break from looking at old buildings!
we ate these amazingly cheap and yum wrap things, and after half a cocktail, i had issues trying to ask joseph to get gemma a wrap, so becareful, thos things will get you! but it was so nice to just relax and chat with everyone, with music pumping loud by the beach :)

we headed back to the resort at 8pm and had a HUGE dinner and then we had a toga party at the resort bar, which was fun too, i had fun taking silly photos of everyone, find more on my facebook.

monday 17 may 2010 - athens to mykonos

we left the hotel at 6am to catch the 7.30am ferry to mykonos! yay, everyone is so excited! the ferry ride is 6 hours, so im taking the opportunity to colour correct all my photos since florence :) there is internet on the boat, but its slower than dial up, so yet again, no more posts yet, but hold you horses, more photos coming soon!
we got to the resort at about 2pm and spent the afternoon lazing in the sun - bliss!

we headed into the town at about 6pm for a guided walking tour of mykonos town, had dinner at a yummy restaurant with everyone, then headed to the bars for some clubbing. we were taken to an australian bar, then an austrian bar, and they all seem to think playing 'we come from the land down under’ is fun, when you've come all this way to get away from that song!
the bar we went to was fun, played all the music you'd find back home, but unfortunately they watered down their cocktails with too much juice, my long island iced tea just tasted like tequila and tropical juice! and at $35 euro for a bucket [shared between three of us] which was the equivalent to 2 cocktails each, im not really sure if it was worth it, there was so much ice in it, but hey, when in mykonos, buy over priced EVERYTHING!!! and we had a great time anyway, after being in the sun all day, it went straight to our heads anyhow! :)
we had an awesome night, dancing and partying, with alot of the local guys eyeing up the contiki talent ;)

sunday 16 may 2010 - pompeii to athens via corinth canal

we are still on the overnight ferry, and a storm hit in the middle of the night at about 3am and the boat was rocking like a crazy thing till about 10am! not fun! i got up and had breakfast and then it got rougher and i had to go back to bed! we docked and hopped back on the bus, and headed to athens via the corinth canal.

the corinth canal is SO DEEP! ive got photos of it, but they honestly dont show how deep the canal really is, but have a peek anyway.

we arrived in athens and went straight into a guided tour of athens. we started at the acropolis and walked up to the pantheon and took photos, it was pretty dusty up there, so i look crap in all the photos, i could hardly see what i was taking haha.

we then drove through athens and took photos, although the buses got in the way, so there arent very many photos and i was pretty tired by then and i couldnt be bothered haha

we went to the hotel, arriving at 7.30pm and then headed out for a scrummy greek dinner at 8.15pm. so good! [crappy point n shoot SORRY!]
