today we headed into rome early to get into the vatican, but due to a power outage in the museum, we had to que for 2 hours! paaaaaaah! however it was worth the wait! we walked through amazing hall ways, heading towards the cistene chapel
we went through to the preists catacombs which were amazing [this is peter the apostle!]
and then headed to st peters basilica church, it is so massive! i almost couldnt take photos due to the fact that i didnt know where to look first! its so elaborate!
we headed out for pizza for lunch, which you could buy by weight and it was pretty yum, and then walked through rome. we headed to the main shopping street and walked down it, and then headed to the ‘wedding cake’ and went up the top and took photos.
we then headed to the catacombs of the monks which was weird! it was a memorial made of monks bones, to remind people not to be attached to material items, because one day all we will be is bones. no photos allowed inside, but joseph snuck one, naughty naughty!
finally we visited the spanish steps and saw the church that one of the popes used to preach in
we headed back to camp for dinner and then just did our washing, we were so shattered from rome, honestly, take good walking shoes! rome = 1, loz n joseph = 0!
