thursday 6 may 2010 - barcelona

Sunday, May 9, 2010 | |

today we headed out into barcelona.
first we did a quick tour of the city on the bus to get our bearings, and then we were let off to go exploring on our own.
i have a disgusting cold, so i felt like crap all morning, so the first few photos are boring, sorry!

but then we found a pharmacy and they have codral with psuedoeffadrine in it, and after taking that, the day went much better, as did the photos! ive never had that stuff before, all of a sudden you go from feeling like you just want to stay in bed and feel sorry for yourself and sleep, to being like, yay! lets go run around barcelona [after the sleepiness side effect wears off].
we had breakfast at a little cafe [coffee was gross] and then headed into the oldest gothic cathedral in barcelona. it was really pretty, the attention to detail is amazing! it was built in the 1200’s, so i have no idea how they did the ceiling, its so high!
next we cruised down the main street, looking inthe stalls and watching the street performers
we headed down to the waterfront, trying to get on the gondolas, but we couldnt work out where the entrance was, so we gave up and sat and had tapas and sangria instead [i opted out of the sangria coz of my old and the fact that it smells awful!]
then we sang and danced our way back up the main street and met everyone at 5pm.
we headed out to watch some spanish dancing, and drink sangria, then we were dropped off at the waterfront to go out for dinner. we had the most terrible overpriced pizza, as all the restaurants were extremely pricey and only did seafood. then cruised home at 10pm with about 1/4 of the group, the rest stayed out and went partying with Zsofi.
