saturday 1 may 2010 - paris

Wednesday, May 5, 2010 | |

today is May Day. its a public holiday, so everything is closed. everything.
but Zsofi is awesome and has still found exciting things for us to do, so we are going to the royal gardens in the palace of versailles, then, so ill come back and tell you how it went :)
the gardens were SO amazing! ill put lots of photos below for you all to see, i wish that it was in nz so i could take lots of wedding photos there!
the only question i have is.... what the heck did they do with all of those rooms?! so many rooms! maybe they had huge parties and everyone just stayed for days in the castle.

then in the afternoon we went into paris and checked out the notre dame. amazing!

there were so many people at the notre dame taking photos and being silly, it was a really neat vibe, everyone was so happy :) helped that it was warm and the sun was shining! :)
we enjoyed a lovely walk along the river back to the bus
we headed back to camp and a yum dinner of giant kebabs and then headed out to the eiffel tower at 8pm.
the ques were massive, but we entertained our selves by taking stupid photos and being really noisy.
we walked up the first two stories of the tower [900 stairs i think], got a bit dizzy going round and round in circles!
we caught the elevator up to the top and took some awesome photos of the view, it was so crowded up there, kept my hands on my wallet i can tell you, youd have no idea you were being pickpocketed, it was such a squeeze. i have no idea how people propose up there, you couldnt get down on one knee without being trampled!
then we all headed down and stood in the park across the road and watched the hourly light show on the tower, it was so gorgeous and very romantic! [boys id propose in the park with a picnic and wine, watching the lights over going up the tower!]
