WEEK 13 - NEW YORK - friday 23 july 2010

Monday, August 2, 2010 | |

today we went to the rockefeller center for the ‘top of the rock’ view. we bought tickets to go up the top, and also got sold tickets for a tour with a person at the rockefeller center. the girl at the counter said we could make it up the top and back before 5pm, so we did, but we ended up having to rush and only got 5 minutes up the top of the tower, which was extremely disappointing.

at 5pm we met our tour guide Brook, who is totally awesome. we only had one other couple with us, names Billie and Bobby, they are such a sweet older couple, i wanted to steal them! :) Brook showed us around the outside and inside of the Rockefeller Centers and told us the whole history of the place. He is so informative and you can tell hes really passionate about his job. hes an ex-history teacher, i wish he’d been a teacher at my school, then i mightve taken history! then he took bobby and billie up the tower [we had already gone up] and he got to skip all the ques and tell them all about the views, i was SO sad that we missed out on going up there with him :(

we headed to Five Guys for burgers and chips for dinner, SO YUM!!!

we headed to the empire state building and got our tickets for empire state building, since our NY pass expires tonight at midnight, but you can get advance tickets that last up to a year from issue date.

then we caught the subway down to the marina area, and went on the tall ship evening boat cruise. the views were gorgeous and the breeze was so nice, and i got lots of neat photos for you guys :)

the final stop for the evening was the cold stone creamery in times square. SO YUM! you get to pick what ice cream you want, and they grab a scoop of icecream, add the ingredients to it [like sauce, sprinkles, cake], chop it all up together into a big mess of creamy deliciousness, and stick it in a waffle cup for you. soooooo good, i want to eat another one now, just thinking about it
