today is our final day in washington dc, so we headed to the national archives museum with another couchsurfer who is staying with us at james’ place, a japanese guy named Shotaro. i REALLY want to see the declaration of independence. the only problem is, no photography allowed. this is because they don’t want the light from the flashes degrading the paper.
but, you can download images for free from the museum at www.archives.gov, so i’ve posted a few pics here for you to look at.
next we headed out to pick up our rental car in virginia from avis. the lady was nice and helpful, but the car was dirty and hadn’t been vacuumed out, ew, i think i might have to clean it...
we headed back to the apartment, dropped off Shotaro, and picked up our stuff and started our drive to richmond. it took joseph a little while to get used to driving on the right side, and it took me even longer to work out how to understand the tomtom, but after 5 wrong turns we made it out of dc, and we were off to richmond.
we ar staying at a holiday inn for 3 nights for some luxury, and we are going to a theme park and just blobbing and watching tv. so thats what we did. oh tv, how i’ve missed you!
