sunday 23 may 2010 - croatia [dubrovnik]

i have awoken all better! hooray! unfortunately joseph has a flu and feels like he is swallowing razor blades :(
we went on a walking tour of dubrovnik, what an amazing city! i am in LOVE with croatia! we looked around a wee bit and then i got stuck in a jewellery store and bought some sterling silver jewellery, very nice! we are coming back here in a few weeks, so i didnt feel too bad about not sight seeing too much!

at 12.30 we hopped on a private boat and went for a ride to two islands that i cant remember the names of, but were both amazing.
it was mostly lovely and sunny, and a few of the contiki crew jumped off the boat and swam in the [very cold] adriatic sea!
we had lunch looking out to sea, very nice, and im enjoying the prices in croatia alot more!

in the evening everyone headed back to change and go back into town for drinks, but me, joseph and gemma stayed in town to grabbed dinner,we saw a cute dog on the way, and walked around the city walls and dmired the view...

then headed back for a slightly early night, as i was still tired from the gastro bug, but i made a new friend ‘Pero’, the guy who runs the hostel and he fed us his homemade distilled olive and twig liquer, which i nicknamed ‘Pero’s Rocket Fuel’, boy golly that stuff makes you involuntarily dry-wretch after each sip, and its STRONG. he tried to make me drink half a glass! [for those of you who dont know, im not a big drinker, unless it tequila!] eventually we made it to bed, nice and cosy! :)
