WEEK 10 - GERMANY - hameln - tuesday 29 june 2010

today Ines took us to look around Hameln, one of the neighbouring villages. Its such a cute wee place, and its Ines’ home village too! its also the home of the pied piper, so Ines took us to the information center and we watched a 11mi video of the area and the history, and looked at all the rat themed tourist stuff. there are little rats on the road, to lead you around the town. we saw all of the nice sights, including the wedding building, where you have your official ceremony [like the resgistry office], and watched the glockenspeil.

My absolute favourite, we went to this cute little cafe called ******[ill tell you when i remember!]. its so cool! the coffees and cakes are delicious and home made, and the whole cafe is set up like an old style home, complete with kitchen, dining, lounge and cellar! i highly reccommend coming here, so ive even gotten Ines to point it out on the town map, its in the shopping district, and they have a website too!

we met up with Ines’ mum after she finished work, and went for a walk over to the little island in the middle of the city, and admired the view and sat in the shade in this little cafe area, and then they took us up the mountain to look at the gorgeous view of the city :)

a completely lovely day, ending with a nice evening chilling out.
