today we headed out into vienna and explored. zsofi showed us around quickly then we were left to explore. it rained most of the day, so we took it easy, we only had about 5 hours in the city, which was nowhere near long enough to see everything, but i now know its definately a place on my list of places to go back to. there are so many sights to see, and its not too touristy like paris, which is nice!
we left the city centre and headed to schnapps tasting, we didnt go in and try any, because i knew id want to buy heaps and we are running low on spending money, but we werent short of entertainment, while we were sitting on the bus waiting [there was about of us who didnt do the schnapps tasting] this lady went crazy across the road, yelling and screaming at this guy who was standing on the sidewalk, while she was three storeys up in an apartment. then she threw a bunch of stuff out of the window, including a wallet, which somebody stole as they walked past [only took 1 minute to get nicked!]. it was very entertaining to say the least, if only we could understand what she was screaming about!
we then headed to another palace of someone that i cant remember, but here’s a picure just so you know, im sure someone out there who actually studied history can tell me what it is :) zsofi would be so upset with me right now for not remembering! [i honestly dont know HOW she remembers all of the history she tells us, shes a walking historical encyclopaedia, i tell you!]
we then headed off for our schnitzel dinner somewhere in the sticks. gazza and zsofi decided it would be funny to play a trick on us and pretend to get lost, and yelled at each other up the front of the bus [they turned the music down to make sure we heard them], zsofi threw a big map around for effect, and then they stopped the bus in the middle of nowhere and had an argument outside, and zsofi even cried! and then we found out it was a joke [i thought it was considering zsofi has done this tour before] but it was so convincing! but i videoed it, so thatll be funny to watch :)
we arrived at the venue and enjoyed a yummy dinner and really funny kids music played on a keyboard by the guy that runs the place, as zsofi puts it, ‘its like the 5th birthday party that you never got to have because you had chicken pox’.
we finished the night off singing our national anthems and partying to music.
