wednesday 2 june 2010 - switzerland to rhine valley

Sunday, July 11, 2010 | |

today we headed to the rhine valley, and enjoyed the scenery while the bus was cruising along.
we stopped in this little town called heidelberg, its very cute! below is a picture of Ampleman, he is the cute little red and green man at the traffic lights, but he is way more cool and stylier than our ones.

we stayed at this neat little motel, and the owners also owned the beer stein place, and the cuckoo clock place too. we checked out the steins, which were cool, [but kinda ugly, ssshhh dont tell anyone i think that haha] i was considering buying the special contiki one, but at 80 euros, id prefer to put that towards my dream leather handbag!
we drove past the place where Lorilee[?] is supposed to have jumped and killed herself for some reason and now she makes ships crash when her ghost sings or something. i dunno. google it! lol!
after dinner, we went to a wine tasting, and enjoyed scrummy german wine, and saw a hanuted house on the way!
ash and i bought a bottle to enjoy, which we werent allowed to take with us from the tasting, we were told it was going to be delivered to the motel, but alas, the owners of the hotel wouldnt release the wine to us that evening, we had to wait until we left. so annoying! zsofi even asked for us, and they still said no. oh well. so i ended up giving the botle of wine to zsofi, since she’d done such a great job, and i didnt fancy carrying anymore weight through london!
we ended the evening with an evening stroll and some gelato instead with tim and darren.
