WEEK 10 - GERMANY - hannover - friday 2 july 2010

Sunday, July 25, 2010 | |

today we headed out on the most melting hot day! 35 degrees! paaaah! we headed into Hannover for a look around. it has the most massive pedestrian shopping district, you could spend at least a day there, but we didnt feel like walking all of the streets in the heat.
we started off visiting the governors castle house? i think?? ill double check that. its set in the most beautiful location with a lake, right in the city centre. we went inside and looked around and went up this really cool elevator that goes around the inside of the turret things on a curve, up to the lookout at the top. amazing views, have a look...

we continued into the town, looking at more buildings along the way, looked inside a church that had someone playing the organ inside, it was kinda scary! i did video it though, its so ominous sounding!

we ended the day with a delicious lunch in the shade outdoors, and a wee walk through the shopping district, before heading back to the car, to go home, because we were going to melt! we spent the evening relaxing with beers, and i also did a portrait shoot of Ines and Helge to say thank you for their lovely hospitality!
oh and they even have cherry trees and i got to eat one off the tree! SO delicious!
